Candice Charles is the Birth Equity Analyst supporting the Cherished Futures for Black Moms & Babies team. Originally from the East Coast, Candice received her Master’s degree in Public Health from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. There, she focused her studies on both Global and US based Sexual & Reproductive Health and Gendered Violence. Before joining the Alliance, she worked conducting community based participatory research (CBPR) around Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES)among Black mothers in South LA and Equity in LA County’s COVID-19 response. She is passionate about working to improve Black maternal and infant health outcomes and brings a solution orientation to her approach. In Candice’s spare time she enjoys pottery, discovering new music, and spending time outdoors.
